BRICK - the first run

A bookend from one solid piece of steel, made in a run of one hundred. Back a tier and it goes to the machines.

The object

One piece of steel, one job

BRICK is a bookend cut from a single billet of steel and powder-coated black - no welds, no fasteners, nothing to loosen. It holds a metre of books without complaint and looks better the longer it stays. The run is one hundred pieces: enough to earn machine time, small enough that every piece gets checked by hand. Risks, honestly: machining slots can slip by a week or two and coating batches vary slightly piece to piece - that variance is the point of a run, not a defect.

Before you back

How the run works

When am I charged?

At checkout, like any order - a pledge is a normal purchase of a run tier. No hidden fees later.

When does it ship?

The whole run ships together when it completes - target is roughly four weeks after the campaign closes. Every backer gets tracking.

Can I cancel?

Yes - any time before the run ships, for a full refund to your original payment method. Email studio@shapedmatter.com with your order reference.

What if the run doesn't reach its goal?

Then we either make it anyway or refund every backer in full. Your money never rides on a maybe - the deadline decides, not us.

Why a run instead of stock?

One hundred pieces is enough to earn machine time and small enough to check every piece by hand. Runs also mean the first backers genuinely fund the tooling - which is why the first thirty pay less.
